4th of July

The fourth of July is right around the corner and everyone in the valley is gearing up to celebrate the holiday. I have curated a list of some of the events going on around town and in the surrounding areas.

Up in McCall events start at 11 am in Legacy, Depot, and Brown Park in downtown McCall. There will be bounce houses, live music, face painting, food vendors, a beer garden for attendants ages 21+, and the fireworks start at dusk. For specific times and locations of events go here: http://mccallchamber.org/fourth-july/

McCall is a personal favorite of mine to spend the 4th of July. I always have a good time swimming in the Lake and hanging around the docks.

In Garden Valley, there will be a Pancake Breakfast from 8 to 11 am, a duck race at 4 pm, a parade at 6, and the fireworks start as soon as it gets dark. More information can be found here: http://gvchamber.org/calendar/

Garden Valley is a good option for those who want to escape the city for the day but also don’t want to go too far away. There is nothing quite like being surrounded by trees when celebrating America’s birthday.

Down in Boise, there will be another pancake breakfast down in Julia Davis Park next to the Gene Harris Bandshell. That will take place 7 am to 11 am and prices are listed on the city of Boise’s website: https://parks.cityofboise.org/4thofjuly/

Make sure to put on your American flag tank top, bring some sparklers, and a jug of water because this 4th is going to be hot!

Also in Boise, there is the Liberty Day Parade that starts at 11 am. The fireworks display will take place, as always, at Ann Morrison park and they will start at approximately 10:15 pm.

If you want to find out more information on the events going on around town this month, and future months, check out this calendar: https://www.boiseonlinemall.com/calendar

Ann Morrison is definitely the spot to be if you want to celebrate the 4th with a lot of people and don’t want to leave the city. My favorite spot to view the fireworks is from Crescent Rim Drive, but make sure to get a place early because it is always packed with people.

There is a lot to do on that special day so go out there, have fun, and be safe!
